 Hi Amy
My mom just showed me your picture on the computer. I was trying to push all of the buttons. Looks like you found a buddy to do poopies in the woods with . My mommy said if that were her she would try to hold it. But then you would probably get a tummy ache. I don't quite understand. I can't wait for next week.
Love
Elizabeth

I've been thinking of you and the rest of those pesky hornets all night long! I'm so proud of all of you. I dreaded hearing the rain, and usually it relaxes me! How's the cough? Sean and I will be there in Hampton Beach. Can't wait to see you all, because I do love you all, but must say I'm partial to TC- Get that Eric, TC. I never say that I took good care of Sarah, she seemed lost without you guys. I know where her heart is! See you soon! Do great on your last leg, Theresa. Love, Momma

I'm so proud of you running in the dark like a big girl. Are you very very stinky? I'll have a hose and a garbage bag ready for the yukky clothes when you get home tonight. Can't wait to see you and Eric. What an adventure! Good luck with your final legs. Maggie says hi, or at least I think that's what she said.

I just came back from my run and, while running, I realized that you had a pretty outstanding leg!!! Doing the 5 miles at 2:00 AM, especially considering your body clock, at a 9 1/2 minute per mile pace is impressive..especially in the dark and maybe rainy conditions…things are well here….see you soon

Hey Hornets! How's the rain? I have one hour before I head up to Hampton. Mike, it was weird waking up in the middle of the night and see Bridge, not you. She kept your side of the bed warm!! Congrats to all of you once again!! MISS YOU

Good Morning Eric, except for the actual running, I think Reach the Beach looks like a blast! That and the no showers and sleeping on the floor. You're doing great, and zero looks like she's doing a great job. See you tonight!

About Reach the Beach and Who We Are:

What's All This, Then?

Information about who we are and what Reach the Beach is can be seen below. A little bit further down the page, as we draw nearer to the race weekend, you'll find regular entries on how we're doing, both in terms of fundraising and getting ready for the race. As the race is underway, we'll be regularly updating the site with a running blog, keeping our rabid fans up-to-date with exactly where we are in the race and how we're all doing.

Reach The Beach

The Reach The Beach (RTB) Relay is the longest running relay race in the United States. The RTB Relay will take place in picturesque New Hampshire during the start of the New England foliage season. The relay will consist of (a maximum of ) 12 person teams that will rotate through 36 transition areas as they cover the approximate 200 mile distance of the race. This means that each relay team member will run 3 legs of varying lengths and difficulty and will cover an average total distance of ~16.6 miles.

Green Hornets Team

The Green Hornets Running Team is made up of twelve local people who run for fun, and once a year, run for a great cause. This year, we're raising money for the SHADE Foundation, in memory of our good friend Rich Lennon, who lost his battle with melanoma this past spring. This year's team is made up of the following: Amy Cardin; Eric Cardin; Theresa Coyle; Mike Enos; Bobby Ewell; Chrissy Hannon; Chris Kidney; Drew McKenna; Leah McKenna; Mike McKenna; Chad Powell; and Jeremy Powell. Amy, Eric, and Chris will be joining us this year in what will be the first RTB race for each of them.

If you'd like to make a donation, please do so either by clicking on the link at the top of this page to donate online, or by sending a check written to the SHADE Foundation. Please mail it to Leah McKenna, 7 Forest St., Middleboro, MA, 02346
